Saint Thomas 3 July 2025 A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark (16:16-20) “Everyone who believes me will be able to do wonderful things. By using my name they will force out demons, and they will speak new languages. They will handle snakes and will drink poison and not be hurt. They will also heal sick people by placing their hands on them.” After the Lord Jesus had said these things to the disciples, he was taken back up to heaven where he sat down at the right side of God. Then the disciples left and preached everywhere. The Lord was with them, and the miracles they worked proved that their message was true. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Saint Thomas the apostle spoke aloud in a powerful way about his faith in the risen Lord Jesus. Let us make his prayer our own. (pause) Our Lord and our God, deepen our faith in Christ even though we have not actually seen him with our own eyes. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Saint Thomas initially doubted that Jesus had risen, but when Jesus appeared to him, he immediately believed and went on to spread Jesus’ word. Jesus said “The people who have faith in me without seeing me are the ones who are really blessed!” We are those people, so let’s sing together “I Believe it”. May the love of God guide our minds. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 112
