LISTEN GATHER Let us pray that we may show God’s goodness to the world. (pause) God our Father, you know us and love us for we are your children. Help us to bring peace and joy to others. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Galatians (5:22-25) God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPOND The qualities that St Paul talks about in today’s reading are sometimes called the fruits of the spirit. As followers of Jesus, we are supposed to be loving, peaceful, kind, gentle and patient towards others. Join together in singing this song about the Fruit of the Spirit. GO OUT May the Holy Spirit enlighten us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 115
