And if you want to be first, you must be everyone’s slave. The Son of Man did not come to be a slave master, but a slave who will give his life to rescue many people.” The Gospel of the Lord. Let’s pray... In today’s reading, we are reminded that Jesus didn’t come to us to be served like an earthly king – he came to serve others and tell them about God’s love and mercy. Since we are followers of Jesus, we don’t strive to be important, or first, or great in the eyes of others. Instead, we are called to serve others, just as Jesus did.
