Praying Together With Children - 2025

We Go into the World... We Gather... MONDAY 28 JULY 2025 Week 17 Ordinary Time We Listen... A reading from the letter of St James (5:13-15) Brothers and sisters: If you are having trouble, you should pray. And if you are feeling good, you should sing praises. If you are sick, ask the church leaders to come and pray for you. Ask them to pour olive oil on you in the name of the Lord. If you have faith when you pray for sick people, they will get well. The Lord will heal them, and if they have sinned, he will forgive them. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Let us pray that we will be faithful in serving God. (pause) O God, make us eager to serve you in faith, hope and love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. We Reflect... The scripture reading from St James tells us that our prayers are powerful when we pray for sick people. Do you know anyone who is sick? If so, bring that person to mind. If you don’t know anybody who is sick, perhaps you could think about the children and adults who are in hospital today and hold them in your mind and heart. Close your eyes. Spend some moments in quiet prayer asking God to heal these people and make them well again. May God bless us and protect us and bring us to eternal life. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 129
