Praying Together With Children - 2025

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke(10:38-42) The Lord and his disciples were travelling along and came to a village. When they got there, a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat down in front of the Lord and was listening to what he said. Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!" The Lord answered, "Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Tuesday SAINTS MARTHA, MARY AND LAZARUS We gather We listen to God’s word We respond We go forth If Jesus was coming to your house for dinner today, what would you need to prepare? It’s only natural to think about what you might serve for dinner, and to try and make things nice for Jesus when he arrives. Do you think you would more like Martha, working hard to get things ready, or would you be more like Mary, just happy to sit and listen? Watch this short video, Jesus Visits Martha and Mary, to remind yourselves of the message of this gospel story. May Christ the Lord walk beside us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 29 July 2025 Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus lived in Bethany and were good friends of Jesus. They welcomed him into their home. Let us pray that we will be warm and welcoming to others. (pause) Open our hearts, O God, to those in need and make our homes places of welcome.
