Let us pray that our hearts will be full of genuine love for others. (pause) God our Father, Teach us to be patient, loving and kind. May we be quick to forgive and eager to put others before ourselves. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Corinthians (13:4-7) Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered. It doesn’t keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Love never fails! The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. What is love? St Paul had some wonderful descriptions of love in our reading today. We can feel love for our families, friends, and other special people in our lives. Watch this beautiful video about these young children’s descriptions of love. WEDNESDAY Week 17 Ordinary Time 30 July 2025 May God’s Holy Spirit fill us with love. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 131
