We Listen We Pray Thursday Saint Ignatius Loyola 31 July 2025 A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah (11:1, 5-8) The Lord says this: Someone from David’s family will someday be king. Honesty and fairness will be his royal robes. Leopards will lie down with young goats, and wolves will rest with lambs. Calves and lions will eat together and be cared for by little children. Cows and bears will share the same pasture; their young will rest side by side. Lions and oxen will both eat straw. Little children will play near snake holes. They will stick their hands into dens of poisonous snakes and never be hurt. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. We remember Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits who helped renew the Church in prayer and good work. To the greater glory of God, we pray. (pause) Holy God, like Ignatius may we honour you by the words of our prayer and the actions of our lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. We Respond Let’s sit in silence and pray that world leaders will be honest and fair so that there may be peace all over the earth. We Go Forth May God’s word strengthen our hearts. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 132
