WEDNESDAY WEEK 5 ORDINARY TIME Collect Let us pray for the day when all will be one. (pause) God of oneness and peace, help us recognise your rich gifts in others and build unity from our differences. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Scripture A reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah (31:33) They will be my people, says the Lord. The Lord says this: “This is the agreement that I, the Lord, will make with the people of Israel: I will write my laws on their hearts and minds. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONSE By saying “I will write my laws on their hearts”, God is telling Jeremiah that he gives us a conscience so we can decide right from wrong. Through making good decisions and following in Jesus’ footsteps, we can be people of God. Using some blank paper, draw a large heart, and write some simple ways to follow the “law of God” and choose right over wrong. Colour your heart, and either create a class mural, or glue it into your RE book. DISMISSAL May the love and generosity of God guide our minds. Amen.
