Friday Week 24 Ordinary Time 19 September 2025 Let us Pray Let us pray for those who preach God’s word. (pause) O God, bless our priests so that their Sunday homily will inspire us to lead better lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Word of God A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke (16:10-13) Jesus said: “Anyone who can be trusted in little matters can also be trusted in important matters. But anyone who is dishonest in little matters will be dishonest in important matters. If you cannot be trusted with this wicked wealth, who will trust you with true wealth? And if you cannot be trusted with what belongs to someone else, who will give you something that will be your own? You cannot be the slave of two masters. You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than to the other. You cannot serve God and money.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Reflect Today’s reading is a warning that there are lots of distractions in the world that can occupy all of our attention. It reminds us to be careful that nothing else becomes as important to us as Jesus. My Number One, is a joyful song which declares that no matter what happens, Jesus will always be our ‘number one’ and the subject of our praise. Go forth May God’s never-ending love fill us with joy. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 168
