Praying Together With Children - 2025

DISMISSAL RESPONSE COLLECT SCRIPTURE FRIDAY 31 OCTOBER 2025 Week 30 Ordinary Time On Sunday, we remember in prayer all our friends and relatives who have died. We ask God to take care of them. (pause) God of mercy, open the arms of your love to welcome our friends who have died and let them live with you forever. Amen. A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (7:11-15) Jesus and his disciples were on their way to the town of Nain, and a big crowd was going along with them. As they came near the gate of the town, they saw people carrying out the body of a widow’s only son. Many people from the town were walking along with her. When the Lord saw the woman, he felt sorry for her and said, “Don’t cry!” Jesus went over and touched the stretcher on which the people were carrying the dead boy. They stopped, and Jesus said, “Young man, get up!” The boy sat up and began to speak. Jesus then gave him back to his mother. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. May God look upon us with kindness and grant us peace. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. With trust in God’s kindness and mercy, let us pray for healing in the world. For those who are sick or dying: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who grieve a loved one who has died: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who encourage us and give hope: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For strength to live in a way that pleases God: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. 198
