A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (6:19-21) Jesus said to his disciples: “Don’t store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will always be where your treasure is.” The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. On Saturday we celebrated All Saints Day. The Communion of Saints means that all Christians, living and dead, are united as the one family of God. Let us pray together as a family of love. (pause) O God, help us on earth by the prayers of the saints in heaven so that one day we will be united in your glorious kingdom with Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. We Gather We Listen The ‘Litany of the Saints’ is one of the oldest Catholic prayers still in use. It is prayed at the Easter Vigil, at ordinations of bishops, priests and deacons, and also on All Saints Day. You can choose to pray the Litany of Saints, or, if your school has a patron saint, you could pray your school prayer. We Reflect May God look upon us with kindness and grant us peace. Amen.
