Praying Together With Children - 2025

a t l a t f u a 17 November 2025 Monday SCRIPTURE A reading from the First Letter of St Paul to Timothy (2:1-4) First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them. Pray for kings and others in power, so that we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honour God. This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases God our Saviour. God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. When we pray, often we ask God to help us with something, or to take away something that is causing us pain or anxiety. Today’s reading from St Paul reminds us that we should pray for others too. As you listen to this gentle music by Edvard Grieg called “Morning Mood”, spend a few minutes thinking about other people. Ask God to bless each one of the people you think of and tell God how thankful you are for them. RESPONSE GATHER Saint Elizabeth was a young mother who also cared for the needy in Hungary. We pray for young mothers. (pause) Hear our prayers, O God, for mothers who care for their children and work for a better world. Give them strength. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. DISMISSAL May God grant us holiness. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 209
