Scripture Dismissal May Christ smile graciously upon us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (4:32-35) The followers of Jesus all felt the same way about everything. None of them claimed that their belongings were their own, and they shared everything they had with each other. In a powerful way the apostles told everyone that the Lord Jesus was now alive. God greatly blessed his followers, and no one went in need of anything. Everyone who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles. Then they would give the money to anyone who needed it. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Collect At this time of the year, it is good to remember people such as the good bishop Saint Nicholas and his generosity. Let us pray that we will think of others at Christmas time. (pause) God of love, take away our selfishness and make us truly grateful for what we receive. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. TUESDAY WEEK 2 ADVENT 9 DECEMBER 2025 Response Christmas time is so often a time of receiving, yet there is so much joy in giving. With your class, make a list of ideas of how you can help others by giving this Christmas... it might be donating to charities, putting gifts under a wishing tree, or doing kind deeds for family, friends or neighbours. 225
