RESPONSE SCRIPTURE A reading from the holy gospel according to Matthew (11:2-6) John was in prison when he heard what Christ was doing. So John sent some of his followers to ask Jesus, "Are you the one we should be looking for? Or must we wait for someone else?" Jesus answered, "Go and tell John what you have heard and seen. The blind are now able to see, and the lame can walk. People with leprosy are being healed, and the deaf can hear. The dead are raised to life, and the poor are hearing the good news. God will bless everyone who does not reject me because of what I do." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. DISMISSAL May the God of consolation walk with us. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us pray that the joy of Christmas will fill our hearts with love. (pause) God of love, you are very close to us in the birth of the baby, Jesus, your Son. Fill us with happiness this Christmas time. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. In today’s scripture passage, Jesus reminds his friends of all they have seen him do, and the miracles he has worked in their presence. There are many stories that tell of the wonders of Jesus’ miracles. Watch this short video together to reflect on one particular occasion when Jesus worked a miracle in front of many people.
