Friday Week 6 Ordinary Time We gather We listen to God’s word We reflect We go forth Let us pray that we grow in our love of God and other people. (pause) God our Father, help us to be more like your son, Jesus, and keep your love alive in our hearts. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke (6:27-28, 31) Jesus said to his disciples, "This is what I say to all who will listen to me: Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you. Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you. Treat others just as you want to be treated." The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Spend a few quiet minutes reflecting on who your ‘enemies’ might be in any particular situation. Jesus tells us that we should love and pray for the people who make life hard for us, and that we should treat others with kindness – just as we like to be treated. Watch this engaging video clip called “Love Your Enemy” and then talk about how the characters have changed by the end of the video. May the joy that comes from God fill our hearts. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 21 FEBRUARY 2025 20
