A reading from the book of the prophet Ezekiel (36:26-28) The Lord says this: “I will give you a new heart and a new mind. In place of your stone heart, I will give you a heart with feeling. I will put my Spirit in you and make you eager to obey my teachings and laws. You will live in the land that I gave your ancestors. You will be my people, and I will be your God.” The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Divide the class into five groups. Each group is given a sentence from the reading (from “I will give you a new heart”). In your group, create some simple movements that represent the words (eg hands on heart for “I will give you a new heart”). Practise your movements whilst saying your group’s sentence out loud. Position the groups around the room or in a line, in the order of the sentences in the scripture reading. As a whole class, present the scripture as a word-and-movement retell.
