Praying Together With Children - 2025

Let us pray for the strength to do God’s work in the world. (pause) Faithful God, open our hearts to the joy of the Easter mysteries, and help us to share that joy with others. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. WE GO OUT INTO THE WORLD WE GATHER A reading from the second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians (5:17-19) Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. WE LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD WE RESPOND What an amazing promise is offered to us in today’s reading. We are reminded that, through Jesus, God offered peace and forgiveness to all people. The past is forgotten and everything is new. Close your eyes and think about what “peace” feels like for you. It might be a feeling in your body, like the feeling of a deep breath or relaxed muscles. It might be a calm feeling in your mind, like the letting go of any worries. Sit in silence for a minute or two, allowing the peace of Jesus to wash over you. THURSDAY OCTAVE OF EASTER 24 APRIL 2025 May the peace of Christ dwell in our hearts. Alleluia! Alleluia! In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 62
