Praying Together With Children - 2025

Thursday Week 2 Easter The Word of God Reflect 1 May 2025 A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah (50:4-8) The Lord All-Powerful gives me just the right words to comfort the weary. Each morning he makes me eager to learn his teaching. The Lord All-Powerful made me willing to listen and not rebel or run away. And so I let them beat my back and pull out my beard. I didn’t turn aside when they made fun of me and spat in my face. But the Lord God keeps me from being embarrassed. So I refuse to give up, because I know God will never let me down. My protector is nearby. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. In communion with all creation, let us pray for the needs of the world. For our neighbours in the Pacific Islands: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who live a simple life: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For gratitude in our hearts: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For those who spread God’s word: (pause) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. For the prayers in our hearts today: (pause while students offer their prayers aloud) We pray as one. Gracious God, hear our prayer. Go forth May the love of God guide our minds. Alleluia! Alleluia! May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us Pray Let us pray that we will do with loving hearts what God asks of us. (pause) God our Father, strengthen our faith, hope and love that we may come to share the life you promise. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 67
