Praying Together With Children - 2025

A reading from the holy gospel according to John (19:25-27) Jesus' mother stood beside his cross with her sister and Mary the wife of Clopas. Mary Magdalene was standing there too. When Jesus saw his mother and his favourite disciple with her, he said to his mother, "This man is now your son." Then he said to the disciple, "She is now your mother." From then on, that disciple took her into his own home. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. As Mary and the disciple John stood by the cross, Jesus said to John, “This is your mother”. Jesus was giving Mary as mother to the whole Church. Let us pray that we might entrust ourselves to Jesus especially in difficult times. (pause) O God, as we remember Mary’s motherly presence among the disciples of Jesus remind all those who believe in you that they are never alone. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Monday Mary, Mother of the Church 9 June 2025 We Gather We Listen Today we remember Mary, our Mother, in a special way. Students may like to pray in the silence of their hearts to Mary, asking for her intercession in whatever they need help with today. This quiet time of prayer could conclude with the class praying the “Hail Mary” prayer aloud together. Alternatively, this video “Hail Mary – Gentle Woman” begins with a sung version of the Hail Mary and continues on to celebrate Mary as our gentle and peaceful mother. We Reflect May the love of Christ burn in our hearts. Amen. May God bless us in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. We Go into the World 94
